Our Cabinet Painting Process
1) Cabinet Doors/Facings Removal
- Removal of cabinet doors and facings / Removal of hardware
- Labeling of doors/ facings, and hardware
2) Prep Cabinet Doors/Facings/ Gables, and Carcass
- Remove any dirt/ grime, or oil from the surface.
- Fill and caulk where necessary.
- Sand and clean, silky smooth finish.
- Set up a mobile paint booth (properly ventilated) in your garage or near the kitchen (saves us money, and we will pass the savings on to you)
- Mask and plastic off the kitchen. Mask any cabinets with windows/ Mask and plastic off the kitchen
3) Prime and Paint
- Using top-of the line primer/ Prime Cabinet Doors/Facings/ Gables and Carcass
- Sand and Clean.
- Using top of the-line Paint/ Paint Cabinet Doors/Facings/ Gables and Carcass with 2 coats/ sanding and cleaning between coats.
4) Cleanup and put Cabinet Doors and Facings back on.
- Remove masking paper, plastic, and tape.
- Put the hardware back on and put cabinet doors and facings in the correct spot. We advise our clients to wait at least 3-5 days before putting the doors and facings back. If you need to use the kitchen immediately, we advise our clients to be very careful around the cabinets, gables, and carcass so they can properly cure.
